Registering threads using XInitThreads() and embedded Kaffeine part crash

I would like to draw your attention to crash when embedding Kaffeine in
Konqueror. According to this comment [1], it is caused by not calling
XInitThreads() at startup of Konqueror, there is a patch for this in
Suse distributor patches.

So, is this patch valid and if so, what are the chances to get it into
KDE 3.5.5? These crashes are very annoying and cause bad user
experience. This bug has 82 votes and some part of bug 114198 votes
(total 160) probably also belongs to embedded Kaffeine.
