The kdeedu-folks managed to port almost all of kdeedu to KDE4 some month
ago. We sync more or less dayly. For example, 95% of Kalzium is working
as intended. Of course, we are not using KIOSK, threads, kio and other
more core technology.

So from my perspective: KDE4 is ready to ship ;-)
