IMHO it does not require hard work at all.  <wish class="fiction">It takes 
motivated teachers who are fascinated by math for themselves (*very* hard to 
find), and you need those from first grade on in order to stimulate students' 
interest and curiousity in math.</wish>  The rest is trivial. ;-)

Back to the original question: When I said that I preferred the EPSILON name, 
that's also because programmers not knowing about machine epsilons won't look 
for that anyways (or probably won't use it properly).
