Uic 3.3.5 troubles

As probably everyone noticed by now, the uic shipped with Qt 3.3.5 has become
rather picky and bails on a lot of .ui files.

There is a patch for uic floating around that takes care of some of the errors
and there have been a lot of commits to .ui files all over branches/3.5 to
deal with the rest, but this still leaves lots of released third party
applictions which will not compile with Qt 3.3.5.

Is there anybody working (or perhaps even has already finished working) on a
patch for uic that completely restores the previous behaviour? I would very
much appreciate such a thing, as it seems to be the only practical solution
to allow packaging Qt 3.3.5.
