Here it is. items() should give you what you want, altough internally 
everything should work as I want. ;-) I tested, and it doesn't break 
kst or Quanta. And I did not recompile them, so it seems to be binary 
compatible as well.
Please test and if nobody objects, let's put in 3.5.
