What is a KDE app (was Re: Image viewer for KDE4 (Re: KView for KDE4?))

while timing releases alongside KDE releases would be nice as you can ride the 
coattails of the KDE PR announcements, i don't think that's particularly 
necessary. you could do multiple KEG releases in the time it takes KDE to go 
from x.y to x.(++y) if that made sense for KEG. it would also give people 
something new to play with in between KDE releases.

are there any other specific reasons for doing KEG releases in tandem with KDE 
releases?

that's going to one huge tarball =) has any thought been put to making it easy 
(e.g. documenting how) to build select applications from the release?
