IMHO it's especially important that KDE does not have documentdir != $HOME by 
default and hide home at the same time.  That would mean that people really 
wondered where their data has gone.

(I remember a time when this document support was added to trunk and enabled 
by default IIRC, and I really wondered what was going on.)
