[PATCH] for KNS BICs.

Here is a cut at fixing these two. It also fixes an uninitialized variable. 
Please review -- in particular, can any KNS person see whether I am 
initializing mIgnoreInstallResult properly? 

(Obviously, if the change is fine, I am requesting the inclusion in 3.4.0)
