No, sorry.
But we can't simply modify KFileDialog because it would be behaviour
incompatible.
As we three were discussing on IRC, legacy applications asking for
"KFile::File" are really asking for URLs they can just call localPath()
and open it. They have no concept of media:/ or devices:/ or system:/.
New KDE applications (i.e., >= 3.4) should instead expect any local-class
URL and work with the mostLocalURL.
The third mode we discussed is the "remote allowed" kind of applications,
for which it doesn't matter whether the URL is local or remote.
