 Checking for CreateNotify is wrong, I bet it will trigger almost immediately. 
It should be much simpler to enable it at the right time in upAndRunning(). 
However, IMO, it would be even simpler to just make the splash disappear 
after the right mouse button is clicked. I also sometimes left-click on the 
splash just for the fun of it, but I don't think anybody actually does that 
with the right button.
