hello..

i have some rather large decision to make regarding kicker for 3.4.1 ... well, 
two large decisions to be exact. i'm hoping to get a fix on when 3.4.1 might 
be expected so as to guage what my schedule for these considerations is.



for those interested (the rest can stop readng right here =): the bigger of 
the two decisions involves considering whether or not to port libtaskbar and 
libtaskmanager (meaning changes in kasbar as well =/) to KSharedPtr. this is 
a big, if fairly trivial patch and one that i can mostly recover from the 
recent commits to HEAD (though those aren't directly appliable to 3.4.1 due 
to other changes that have been made in between). the reason for doing this 
large change is to address several crash-inducing race conditions in the 
taskbar code that were revealed as the taskbar became more performant. the 
taskabr in 3.4.0 isn't as flaky as it was the last few days in HEAD though 
both instabilities have/had the same root, but i've received several bug 
reports on 3.4.0 regarding this meaning it is affecting a large number of 
people.

the other issue has to do with the automatic deletion of buttons on kicker 
when the .desktop file they represent gets deleted. this can result in losing 
application launcher buttons from the panel if you upgrade while kicker is 
running and your upgrade process includes deleting old .desktop files.
