I just had a closer look at the stuff IBM has open sourced. The code is
useful for web developers writing VoiceXML applications for a server. It
does not include any voice recognition code itself.
If we wish do use speech recognition for KDE, then either IBM needs to
make ViaVoice available to us, or someone needs to write a free software
equivalent using CMU Sphinx:
