Btw, Adrian, you want to use share/apps/$appdir/pics for User icons, which (as
Stephan said) are not themed (cannot be modified via the theme selector on
kcontrol) and are loaded exactly as they're stored on disk (don't have an
effect applied). While all the other icon methods (BarIcon, DesktopIcon,
etc.) get their icons from under share/apps/$appdir/icons/... taking in mind
the icon theme selected by the user, and applying the relevant effect to the
icon.
