I'm going to change the Makefile.am today, since while it works perfectly for 
my srcdir != builddir, automake 1.7.4 autoconf 2.57 FreeBSD setup, and it 
works for Reinhold's unsermake setup, it's obviously causing a lot of 
headaches for other people.
