install-strip doesn't work

It's a private package, I'm just using KDE's admin dir. I have just found out 
that the Makefile.am contained its own install-binPROGRAMS to achieve 
installing the binary suid root, and it used -m4755, hence triggering the 
error mentioned in the last posting.

I replaced -m4755 with -m 4755 to make admin/install-sh happy. However, I 
wonder if there is a proper automake way to install binaries suid root.
