[PATCH] gs thumbnail problem

Hi,
For the last few months, I had been noticing that sometimes on I system I
would get stray gs-processes running forever. It didn't bother me as such,
but eventually I tracked it down to the following: there is a funny .ps on my
~ dir. When I pass the mouse above it, there is the demand for a thumbnail. I
move the mouse away, but the gs process lives on (the file is the one in the
patches comment)
The attached patch fixes it.
Stefan Kebekus (who wrote the code in question) thought the patch ok, but we
both felt that since it touches on signal handling a larger audience (mostly
non-linux, portability is the worrying issue here) should be given a look
before commiting.
