Yes, he did so. I'd also like to mention the famous refactoring book here:
Martin Fowler et. al.
Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code
about 42$
It contains a list of examples on bad smelling code and ways to fix the code,
the focus are applications though.
Matthias focused on the library issues and discussed them more in depths. So
imho Matthias howto and the book probably complement each other quite well.
