What about a string like "$Appname Update"

This way you get strings like "KOrganizer Update" "KHangman Update"

You can provide additional info through "What's this"

Also the word "update" isn't trivial to translate in other languages as
well afaik. So I think 'updating' is a nice generic word for this.
