I think you are both violently agreeing since I think Arend proposed exactly 
the same a couple of emails ago:

Applications which want to use the functionality elsewhere in their code can 
just include BinReloc themselves, no?
This would at least force the authors to think a bit before relying on code 
which fails on non-Linux platforms and not be fooled by KDE.
