Hmm, that's funny, MS' recent trend with Longhorn and Blackcomb especially is 
to do away with the registry.... They stated that the main reason for this is 
the lack of scalability of a registry interface. By 2008 they plan on fully 
bucking the registry according to several associates that I know.
