Am I the only one who thinks this is ugly?

with a light colour (e.g. the grey) it's not very noticeable. the problem is 
really with kmoon, though, as it assumes it can paint the full icon while it 
really should have the grey part be transparent. this is the same with any 
icon, really. and any applet, for that matter: don't paint the background 
unless you actually mean to paint something meaningful there.

and just to be perfectly clear: the background image doesn't have to contain a 
gradient. it could be anything. just please not a flat grey slab of ugliness.
