I've sent a patch like this one to Richard some time ago since KasBar was 
annoying me, too. I tried what I could to find the real cause for the problem 
and fix that but I was unable to find it - so I did the same singleShot 
workaround.

Too bad that Richard never answered committed my patch...

So this is a vote from me to commit a singleShot workaround. (I just tested in 
KDE 3.1 - I cannot reproduce the problem here. Seems like the real problem 
got introduced in kdelibs or kicker code somewhen after 3.1.)
