Serious kdecore problems

  Now that bugzilla is up, here are a few of the many reports of this crash:

  Strictly speaking they are all slightly different so I haven't consolidated 
these ones.  It's possible that they require slightly different fixes too...  
Notice the dupes that were closed though.

  Here we have 3 machines that all crash this way.  We've seen this on a 
variety of Linux distros and compilers - gcc 2.95 to 3.3 even.

   Removing the part in kinstance (line 200) still has left me without a 
single reproduction of the crash after several hours.  I tried everything 
that used to work to make it crash and nothing happened yet.
