Then make stand-alone releases for plugins to proprietary goals. Win-win
situation:

- it sends out a strong message of supporting only the open protocols in the
  main application, which isn't a problem because they're not likely to
  change as frequently.
- no need to (re-)release the framework and core just because some twit at
  Microsoft, Yahoo or AOL decides to mess with protocols.

It doesn't make much sense to work on a plug-in based messenger only to ship
all plug-ins monolithically.

Whatever is decided: decide soon. I think it's only fair to the translators,
documentators and promoters that they know whether Kopete will be included
in KDE or not ASAP.
