Hello,

  1. Since no one seems to have an opinion one way or the other, I will add a
kcontrol module which allows changing of password and face information of a
user. It will go into kdeutils/kdepasswd/userinfo unless I hear objections in
the next 2 days. Screenshots can be found at:
      http://www.members.shaw.ca/bradenm_k/userinfo/

  2. I have KSplash/ML integrated into my kdebase tree, and I am cleaning up
the code. Unless someone else is planning to do it, or unless I hear
objections in the next 2 days, I will move it into kdebase/ksplashml.
Initially, it will be disabled from compilation by default. I will send out a
notice when I think it is ready to be compiled by default, and hopefully,
this list can officially bless it as a replacement for ksplash then.

  3. Is there an easy way to figure out whether the user's information is
coming from NIS rather than local files? If there is, I will add yppasswd
support to the kcontrol module. (A sensible sysadmin would have passwd
symlinked to yppasswd anyway.)

Regards,
Ravi
