I think these kind of bugreports are of very limited use and it's correct to 
close them. Sure, the reporter has a point and by submitting the report he 
has communicated that point, job done.

That still doesn't warrant the kind of response that this reporter got though. 
You can also say "I don't share your opinion but you are free to make 
something like that yourself. I close this bugreport because I am not going 
to do it."
