bugzilla "assigned to" problem

In bugzilla, I'm listed as the owner of kopete/connection status plugin. 
However, bugs that have been assigned to kopete/connection status plugin are 
still marked as being assigned to "Kopete Developers" rather than me 
specifically.

Why is this? Is there any way to force it to mail me when somebody enters a 
bug report for kopete/connection status plugin?
