Hi!
After coolo's mail about reducing bugs until 3.2, I was looking again at
KControl and I figured that a lot of bugs there stem from individual modules.
As the one responsible for KControl I went through the list of maintainers in
bugs.kde.org and sorted out those who's maintainers have been inactive for
quite a long time. If you want to take over one of them you help is greatly
appreciated.
I separated the modules into two categories: essentials and non-essentials.
The latter ones will be *moved to kdenonbeta or deleted* if nobody steps up
to maintain them (mostly because they have collected too much bug reports). I
will assign all essential ones to myself so at least somebody can handle the
bug reports. If you are the maintainer of a module and just lacked time in
the recent weeks, please inform me as well and tell me if you have time left
to maintain the respective module in the future.
Modules that need a new maintainer (essential):
====================================
kcmbackground (has basically been rewritten by quite some people ;)
kcmenergy
kcmfiletypes
kcmicons
kcminput
kcmkeyboard
kcmlaptop
Modules that will be *(re-)moved*:
===========================
kcmlilo (aka "lilo-config" in bugzilla)
kfontmgr
Cheers,
Daniel
PS: Please check if your email address in bugzilla is still recent so you get
notified about new bugs in your component!
PPS: Any contribution to KControl is welcome :)
