I'm fairly sure I use QWidget's for different things than you, but that 
doesn't mean the interface isn't identical.. still a QWidget. If you're 
arguing that the tabs in Kate are superior to those elsewhere, they might 
provide the best basis to work off, but in the end I'd prefer one tabbing 
implementation (or at least a KTabBase, like KDialogBase) over - now five 
already - different ones.
