getting x events with a kded module

I'm trying to port kaccess to be a kded module and the main problem is that I 
don't know how to get X events in a kded module.
Current kaccess code relies on: QApplication::x11EventFilter ( XEvent * )
but of course, as not being a Q/KApplication, I can't use that function.
What can I do then ?
