Critical kdeprint problem

There seems to be a critical kdeprint problem.  I have cups setup locally and 
remotely.  My printer is only available remotely on a network at ip a.b.c.d. 
If I am elsewhere, and hit print so that a.b.c.d is not available, the 
application freezes for a long period of time.  My only solution currently is 
to alias the address of the print server to localhost to avoid this problem.

This seems like a really critical bug and should be fixed for 3.1.1.
