people interested in this thread may want to look up the early history of 
loose leaf filing systems and the corresponding advent of punchcards and 
adding machines at the turn of the 20th century. i think there are a lot of 
similarities process-wise when it comes to bussiness adopton of Free/Open 
Source software..

i won't go into it in depth here, though, as it's rather off-topic for kde-
core-devel... perhaps somewhere else =)
