KEdit's small bug count in bugs.kde.org suggests that the app is still 
maintained.  If you want a formal maintainer for KEdit, I can handle that.  
I use it regularly.

Checking bugs.kde.org, there are 6 whole non-wish bugs.  My goodness.  Kate 
has far more bugs than that in the database.  :-)

Of those six, four appear to be fixed in the kdelibs widget where the 
problem was and one was actually meant for kate.  I don't see the problem 
here.
