And don't forget to tell you need gcc 3.0/3.1/3.2/2.96/2.95 - otherwise the 
user might not know which of the different ABIs your package uses.

And don't forget to tell which version of Xft you use - and the version
of the glibc (if you compiled with 2.2, 2.1 users are out - ok, that's old
news by now, but still there are 2.1 users out there).

This whole point about binary incompatibility is taken far too serious.
