Hmm... sorry, could nevertheless reproduce the problem when my patch is 
reverted. E.g. right click in kmail on the preview frame. The context menu 
will leave its shadows on the screen. I  saw that there are also a lot of 
changes in qwidget.cpp concerning the shown/hidden state. Perhaps something 
goes wrong there.
