True. But there's still the chance that the filesize is the same 
although the contents of the file was changed. And as the result of 
such an unnoticed change could be the loss of all messages in a folder 
we simply can't risk that.

Anyway, our preferred mail folder format is now maildir which doesn't 
have these problems.
