Well, KView has always had problems with resizing its mainwindow. That's 
mostly (partly?) because Qt doesn't allow us (either that or I can't find it) 
to say "resize everything so that the main widget will have a size of W x H". 
(And still be resizable after that.)

We have the same problem in konsole. I have added 
KMainWindow::sizeForCentralWidgetSize() as some sort of solution but it is 
very fragile wrt changes in Qt.
