 You have managed to get any useful data from oprofile? How? It can't do 
callgraphs, which makes it pretty useless for profiling single apps. And 
since AFAIK it does system-wide profiles only per binary/library instead of 
per PID, it's not very helpful for e.g. profiling KDE startup either.
