The problem is not with klipper actions themselves, it's a great system - no 
doubt. 
But their automatic triggering does ennoy most new users.
That's fine if you managed to get used to them, but unfortunately, new users 
will simply not reach this step : they'll just click the "disable actions" 
check item when it pops up unexpectedly for the third time, and then forget 
it.

Solution : turn them off by default, but add a nice "tip of the day" 
describing the fantastic CTR+ALT+R shortcut (which triggers a single action 
on the currently selected text and is IMO the #2 best shortcut after ALT+F2 
).

It is much more likely that new users will come to discover the automatic 
feature if they can trigger it themselves (thus taking the time to actually 
understand it)...
