It seems the bug reported was due to a new (long requested) feature that 
allows users to keep focus of working apps when new windows popup.

Matthias Ettrich found a workaround for misbehaved apps like GIMP or XV (apps 
that don't install transient hints on their popup dialogs).

This bug is thus fixed both in what will be KDE-3.0.1 and in KDE-3.1
