Hello everyone!

The Akademy team is really excited to announce that this year’s very special 30th Birthday edition of Akademy is going to take place on *September 19 - 24* in *Graz, Austria*! Registration <http://conf.kde.org/event/11/registration> is open now! Keep in mind that in order to register to attend you need to have a KDE Identity Account <https://identity.kde.org/>. Once you've registered, don't forget to join the matrix channel to connect <https://go.kde.org/matrix/#/#attend-akademy:kde.org> with other attendees, ask your questions, and get the latest info.

This year is a big milestone for the KDE community! In order to get the full experience we recommend planning to arrive on the 18th (for the welcome party) and leave on the 25th (for reasons!).

Because we are so excited about this year’s celebration, we have opened the Call for Participation <https://akademy.kde.org/2026/cfp> already! All information about this year’s Call for Participation and more can be found on the Akademy 2026 website <https://akademy.kde.org/2026>.

Additionally, if you’d like to help us decide the program for this year’s conference, we are looking for 1-2 people who have been active in the KDE community over the last year to join the programming committee <https://community.kde.org/Akademy/Handbook/Program_committee>. If that sounds like something you’d like to help with or if you have questions about the commitment, you can email akademy-team at kde.org or reach out to me directly on matrix (@mxdarkwater:matrix.io).

As always, Akademy has a Code of Conduct <https://akademy.kde.org/2026/code-of-conduct/> to ensure the event is an enjoyable experience for everyone. As a Community, we value and respect all people, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ability, shape, size or preferred desktop environment. We will not tolerate vilification, abuse or harassment in any form.

We're excited to see you in Graz in September!
