 Hi,

I need people to help me admin this year. I can create the pages and do
reminders, but I won't have time (and motivation) to do blog posts and more
communication.
So if you are interested, please don't be afraid and step up :).

I've updated the skeleton wiki page to create the 2025 season:
https://community.kde.org/GSoC/2025/Ideas.

Please start discussing among your teams what ideas will be great to have
this year and who is willing to mentor, as KDE needs to apply between the
January 27 and February 11 and we need a wiki page filled with ideas by
then.
And please don't wait the last moment to fill the page.

Note: I've removed some links in the mail that were more related to
mentors/admins, I'll send the complete mail to the mentors list.

Cheers,

Johnny

We are thrilled to announce Google Summer of Code 2025, our 21st year of
the program! The blog post will go live at 2000 UTC today on the Google
Open Source blog <https://opensource.googleblog.com/> but we wanted to let
all of you know first.

GSoC 2025 Org Applications are open from Monday, January 27 - Tuesday, Feb
11.

What’s new for GSoC 2025?

We are looking to bring more security and AI/ML projects into GSoC 2025, a
common interest for potential GSoC contributors. If you know of an open
source org doing cool things in AI/ML or security please refer them to
GSoC. If they have questions you can send them to gsoc-support at google.com.

We will hold multiple sessions for potential GSoC Contributors in mid
February - mid March about preparing for the contributor application period
that starts on March 24 and ends on April 8.

Spreading the word about GSoC

Have a group you think GSoC should reach out to?

Diversity in open source communities is vital to the health of our
communities. Please spread the word about GSoC to communities in your
country or in your network particularly those that reach underrepresented
groups in open source. If you have a suggestion for a group you think the
GSoC team should add to our list of contacts that we send out emails to
about the program, or if you have a group that you think would be a good
opportunity for GSoC Administrators to give a virtual talk about GSoC
please email us at gsoc-support at google.com with their details (email and
contact person if you have one available).
