We want to request that the EU not cut off funding to free software

Dear Community,

By now you will have heard the news that the EU is defunding NGI, and thus 
Free Software, in favour of AI.

This has caused a lot of concern and Free Software organisations have produced 
an open letter addressing this issue and directed it to the EC.

The letter is available here:

The organisers are asking associations and individuals to support the request 
by posting the text (available for download at https://pad.public.cat/lettre-NCP-NGI#) on their websites.

We would like to publish this letter also in the name of KDE. We feel that 
this is not very controversial, as many projects in our community have 
benefited from NGI funding, but we, the promo team, cannot speak on behalf of 
the community, hence this email.

We are considering posting this to either the Announcements or KDE e.V. News 
section under the heading 

"KDE joins petition asking the European Union to continue funding free 
software"

or something like that.

We would then promote KDE's position on social media and tag the EC directly.
