I recommend avoiding the term "Linux distribution" in favor of something 
like "operating system", which is:

 1. more accessible
 2. more accurate
 3. more inclusive (and less controversial)
 4. more correct, since one of the current entries (Neon) explains it is
    "not quite" a Linux distribution
