Might I suggest this be linked to using the existing AppData metadata file
and screenshot that should be in every app repo? That way it will also keep
the app installers with updated screenshots too? They could check every app
has an updated AppData file and screenshot, which is then pulled into the
website to be used. Where there isn't a file they will need to approach the
app maintainer to offer to help create one, which should also indicate
which ones are alive or dead.
