Automoc hanging for some FreeBSD users

It must have been end of 2007 or early 2008, back then automoc was starting
multiple moc's at once to speed things up.
This worked without problems under Linux, but there were relatively often
weird hangs under FreeBSD.
We (me and Matthias and maybe Aadrian) were not able to figure out what was
going wrong and just decided that running one moc at once is good enough.
This fixed the problem...
Maybe not really and it just got much more seldom to appear and now we see it
again ?
I can currently find only one of the emails, and that one doesn't say a lot.
automoc was hanging with 100% CPU doing nothing.
