Making non-standard OS checks in cmake?

That's the long-term solution :)

I don't have the necessary FreeBSD-specific skills to know what's changed at 
operating system-level and how to fix it, so for now it's better to just 
disable it until someone steps up for the challenge (I've done something 
similar in kinfocenter).
