You're right, it doesn't, I realized that after sending the mail.
It was my own extrapolation, I thought that we didn't want to use -l anywhere anymore,
in order to get rid of the whole "ordering of -L directories" mess (given that
it's sometimes impossible to order them).
But indeed that's not what the warning is about.
