Hi,
Here is an update on the PyKF5 bindings.
Myself and Shaheed are continuing to work together on making the new
binding generator work for KF5 frameworks. We've had a few voip calls
for high-bandwidth communication and that will probably continue.
The current state of the work is in
https://github.com/steveire/frameworks-bindings
which is just a superbuild of ECM and 12 frameworks which have modular
bindings including tests for each module. The frameworks do not yet
contain all of the sip code which PyKDE4 bindings contain, and the
generator is getting continued work from both of us to close those gaps.
The ticket at
https://phabricator.kde.org/T2389
tracks the progress of being able to build the bindings in the CI system.
I have posted
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.distributions/92
to find any distro-related issues.
If anyone wishes to help on this effort, a good way would be to create
bindings for other KF5 frameworks. The existing ones linked from the
frameworks-bindings have examples of how that is done, and you can ask
here for further guidance if needed.
Thanks,
Steve.
