I have the same issue. Opening config crashed plasma and made it crash forever
on start.

Had to open `~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc` and remove the entry
(paragraph) with `plugin=gcal`. Anybody still needs a stack trace? (pretty much
identical). Nice to permacrash the whole desktop on a 5-year-old bug.
